Topdoffer Levi klopt 3281 concurrenten en bezorgt Aad Kuyt (Katwijk aan Zee, NL) in 2013 opnieuw een 1e nationaal St.-Vincent

Vrijdagochtend om 9.00 uur kregen in totaal 10.944 duiven, waaronder 3.282 Nederlandse deelnemers, het startschot voor een zware overtocht naar hun noordelijker gelegen hokken. Klasbak Levi (NL08-1438715) van Aad Kuyt (Katwijk aan Zee, NL) maakte deel uit van deze lossing en rondde op imponerende wijze als enige Nederlandse duif de kaap van 900 m/min. De sympathieke Aad (61) had voor deze zware vlucht een vijftal kanshebbers voorbereid, hieronder ook zijn lievelingsduif en topper Levi, vernoemd naar zijn kleinzoon. Deze op weduwschap gespeelde krasdoffer had op eerdere vluchten al laten zien dat hij uit het goede hout is gesneden. Zo won hij al in zijn carrière de 4e nationaal St.-Vincent Sector 2 - 5.336 d., 128e nationaal. St.-Vincent Sector 2 - 4.858 d., 203e nationaal Cahors Sector 2 - 7.195 d., 317e nationaal Perpignan - 5.608 d., 843e nationaal Albi Sector 2 - 4.809 d. en nu in 2013 als klap op de vuurpijl de 1e nationaal St. Vincent – 3.282 d.

Ja, u leest het goed: Deze zachtgepluimde doffer heeft reeds een 1e en een 4e nationaal achter zijn naam staan. Was het in 2010 aan de snelheid van 1.058 m/min, dan legde hij nu het traject van maar liefst 1.037 km af aan een gemiddelde snelheid van 918 m/min. Een echte klasbak die weet van doorzetten.

St.-Vincent 2013

Aad, die de meldingen nauwlettend in de gaten hield, had uitgerekend dat je rond 11.30 uur een zeer vroege zou moeten draaien om te winnen. Hij was zijn tuin aan het vegen toen hij om 10:11:07 een duif op zijn zelfgemaakte spoetnik zag zitten. Het was zijn eerste getekende Levi die zat te roepen naar hem. Levi is een zeer makke duif en de rustige Aad kon hem dan ook zo van de klep pakken om de noodzakelijke constateringen te verrichten. Uiteindelijk was dit goed voor de 1e nationaal Nederland tegen 3.282 duiven. Zoals het er nu naar uitziet, zal het over het gehele deelnemersveld van 10.944 duiven goed zijn voor de 5e internationaal. Een prestatie van formaat, zeker gezien zijn enorme overvlucht van respectievelijk 240 en 290 km ten opzichte van zijn vier voorgangers.Levi is dit jaar mede door het koude voorjaar rustig ingespeeld. Voor zijn eerste grote opdracht op 14 juni jongsteleden, eveneens vanuit St.-Vincent, kreeg hij amper 1.000 km aan voorbereiding voorgeschoteld. Op deze eerste St.-Vincent miste Levi trouwens voor het eerst zijn verwachte prijs. Tussen beide krachtmetingen door is deze geweldenaar niet meer op een vlucht geweest. “Ik wilde hem na deze St.-Vincent eigenlijk helemaal niet meer spelen, maar de week voorafgaand aan de tweede St.-Vincent liep zijn conditie fantastisch op en ging hij zich anders gedragen”, aldus Aad. “Vandaar dat ik maar besloten heb om hem toch mee te geven. Hij vroeg er als het ware om.”

In de stamboom van de overwinnaar zien we aan vaderskant een van de beste duiven van Aad, de 458 (NL05-1284458). De 458 vloog zelf een 181e nationaal Perpignan 2008 – 5.662 d., 192e nationaal Pau 2009 – 2.751 d., 252e nationaal Perpignan 2009 – 6.507 d. en 352e nationaal Tarbes 2009 -3.601 d. Verder zien we de bekende Fiets (NL99-2224795) van Hans Knetsch (Katwijk aan de Rijn, NL) en duiven van grootmeester Theo Ernest (Halsteren, NL) terug. De moeder van de 1e nationaal St.-Vincent Nederland is de NL00-1844588 van de soort van Velden/van Wanrooy.Aad, die voor zijn oude duiven een minimale accommodatie ter beschikking heeft van amper 5 meter, speelt met 14 nestkoppels en 14 weduwnaars op klassiek weduwschap. Verder heeft hij een dertigtal jongen en beschikt hij niet over echte kweekkoppels. Met deze wetenschap in het achterhoofd kunnen we niet anders concluderen dat onze uiterst vriendelijke gastheer zeer goed met duiven om kan gaan en de goede soort onder de pannen zitten heeft. Zijn uiterst makke duiven wisten voor hem alleen al de laatste 4 jaar de volgende topnoteringen bijeen te vliegen:

Als u dan ook nog weet dat Aad in het jaar dat hij aan de marathonvluchten begon direct al een 1e nationaal St.-Vincent 1988 wist binnen te slepen, dan kunnen we hier met recht en reden spreken over een topmelker.

De uitvoering St.-Vincent 2013 was een ongekend zware waarbij topdoffer Levi wederom liet zien van een uitzonderlijke kwaliteit te zijn. Zijn kinderen bewijzen ondertussen op het hok van duivensoigneur Aad dat zij over dezelfde goede genen van hun vader beschikken. Het is dus wachten op de volgende hoogstandjes van deze sympathieke liefhebber. Het is hem van harte gegund. Dikke proficiat!

10,944 pigeons were released on Friday Morning 9:00 am for a tough trip to their lofts in the north, including 3,282 birds from The Netherlands. The talented Levi (NL08-1438715) from Aad Kuyt (Katwijk aan Zee, NL) was released as well and he did an impressive job, being the only Dutch pigeon with a velocity of over 900 m/min. The kind fancier Aad (61) had prepared five racing pigeons for this race, one of which was his favourite racing bird Levi, named after his grandson. This cock is raced on widowhood and he had showed his potential in previous races already. He was for instance 4th national St.-Vincent Sector 2 – 5,336 p, 128th national St.-Vincent Sector 2 – 4,858 p, 203rd national Cahors Sector 2 – 7,195 p, 317th national Perpignan – 5,608 p. and 843rd national Albi Sector 2 – 4,809 p. His first national St.-Vincent against 3,282 pigeons this season is a crowning achievement.

Indeed, this soft-feathered pigeon has already won a first and fourth national in his career. His fourth national prize of 2010 was won with a velocity of 1,058 m/min; his first prize of 2013 was won with an average speed of 918 m/min over a distance of 1,037km. This is a powerful pigeon that never gives up.

St.-Vincent 2013

Aad kept a close eye on the first arrivals and he had calculated that a pigeon could win a first prize if it landed before 11:30 am. He was working in the garden when he noticed a pigeon sitting in his homemade sputnik. It was 10:11’07” am. It was his first nominated Levi that was calling for him. Levi is a very tame pigeon and Aad had no trouble picking him up and having him electronically clocked. The pigeon won a first national against 3,282 pigeons. Based on the preliminary results Levi is expected to win a fifth international prize against 10,944 pigeons as well. This really is an impressive performance, especially because he had to fly an additional 240 and 290 km compared to his four closest opponents.Levi had a quiet start to the season, especially because of the cold first months. His first important flight was on 14 June, also from St. Vincent. He had done barely 1,000 training kilometres prior to this race. This was in fact the first time that Levi could not win an expected prize. Levi had not been basketed for a race in between the two flights from St. Vincent. “I had not planned to basket him anymore after the first St. Vincent but he showed some great fitness two weeks ago and he started to behave differently”, Aad explains. “That is why I decided to basket him anyway. It was as if he asked for it himself.”

The sire of this national winner is the 458 (NL05-1284458), one of Aad’s strongest pigeons. The 458 was winner of a 181st national Perpignan 2008 – 5,662 p, 192nd national Pau 2009 – 2,751 p, 252nd national Perpignan 2009 – 6,507 p. and 352nd national Tarbes 2009 -3,601 p. He also originates from the well-known Fiets (NL99-2224795) from Hans Knetsch (Katwijk aan de Rijn, NL) and pigeons of grandmaster Theo Ernest (Halsteren, NL). The dam of the national winner from St.-Vincent is the NL00-1844588, a pigeon from the bloodlines of Velden/van Wanrooy.Aad keeps his pigeons in a very small loft of only five meters long, in which 14 nest pairs and 14 widowers on classic widowhood are housed. He also has a group of about 30 young birds but he does not have any real breeding pairs. With this in mind we can only conclude that this is a fancier with excellent skills who works with a family of high-class pigeons. The race from St.-Vincent was particularly demanding this season and the top class cock Levi once again showed that he has great talent. Parmi eux se trouvaient 3,282 pigeons néerlandais dont le 'Levi' (NL08-1438715) d'Aad Kuyt (Katwijk aan Zee, P-B) qui a réalisé un boulot incroyable en étant le seul pigeon néerlandais à être constaté au dessus de 900 m/min. Aad (61 ans) avait préparé cinq pigeons pour ce concours dont son favori, Levi, qui porte le nom de son petit-fils. Ce pigeon est joué au veuvage classique et il avait déjà démontré auparavant tout son potentiel. Il a ainsi remporté le 4e national St.-Vincent Secteur 2 – 5,336 p, 128e national St.-Vincent Secteur 2 – 4,858 p, 203e national Cahors Secteur 2 – 7,195 p, 317e national Perpignan – 5,608 p. et 843e national Albi Sector 2 – 4,809 p. Son premier national St.-Vincent de 3,282 pigeons est donc le couronnement de sa carrière.

Au cours de sa carrière, ce pigeon aura donc remporté un premier et un quatrième national. Son quatrième national de 2010 fut remporté à une vitesse de 1,058 m/min; sa victoire nationale fut quant à elle remportée à la vitesse de 918 m/min pour une distance de 1,037km. Ce pigeon n'abandonne jamais.

Aad avait suivi les premières arrivées et il avait calculé qu'un pigeon pouvait remporter le premier prix en arrivant avant 11h30. Il était en train de travailler dans son jardin lorsqu'il aperçu un pigeon sur le sputnik. C'était son premier marqué, 'Levi', qui l'attendait. Ce pigeon est très familier et Aad n'eut aucun problème à le faire rentrer pour le constater. Il était alors 10:11’07”. Le pigeon remporte finalement le premier national de 3,282 pigeons. 'Levi' devrait remporter la cinquième pace au classement international face à 10,944 pigeons. C'est une performance exceptionnelle qu'il a réalisé car il a en effet dû voler entre 240 et 290 km de plus par rapport aux pigeons qui l'ont devancé.'Levi' a commencé calmement la saison surtout à cause du froid. Son premier concours important se déroula le 14 juin, là aussi sur St. Vincent. Il avait alors volé environ 1,000 kilomètres avant ce concours. C'est la première fois qu'il rata son prix. Il n'a participé à aucun concours entre ces deux St. Vincent. “Je ne voulais pas l'engager à nouveau après le premier St. Vincent mais il commença à être en parfaite condition il y a deux semaines et son comportement à même changé”, expliqua Aad. “C'est pourquoi je me suis tout de même décidé à l'enloger. C'est comme s'il me l'avait demandé lui-même.”

Il élève environ 30 pigeonneaux par an mais il n'a aucun vrai couple de reproducteurs. Cet amateur posséde donc un excellent feeling et cultive une toute bonne souche de pigeons. Le concours de St.-Vincent fut particulièrement difficile cette année et le fameux 'Levi' a à nouveau prouvé qu'il était un crack.
